Hidden Emotions VIII

Hidden Emotions VIII by Edwin Escolero

Refurbishment of the library has been complete and most of the texts have been accounted for with the exception of some. It has been a long process but the books have finally been organized in their corresponding categories. I speak not freely for I believe that I am being watched. It appears that the raid was not done out of a whim rather it was conducted with purpose.

The bandits who conducted the raids seem to have been observing me– nay the library for a long time. They specifically targeted books containing texts of the mystique. There has been whisper that the tower contains a collection of books from across the region.

There might be some merit to these words as pirates scour the seas in search for loot while these bandits were ordered to root out these tomes of knowledge. The question is those who possess the knowledge what do they do with?

There are different schools of thought that share some similarities while having their key differences. The pious teachings encompass justice, faith, and power while the foundation of magick entails concentration, belief, and willpower. There have been narratives of miracles in the former while the latter contains secrets of healing and change. They both require dedication and careful study to achieve comprehension.

The juxtaposition of the these concepts may seem paradoxical and may bring forth dissonance. There has been conflict over this throughout history.

After pondering the recorded past of antiquity I step out of the library and ponder the future. Staring out upon the tower in the distance I muse over the secrets the may lay hidden within.
